The DayStar Interference Eliminator 2-Inch to C-Mount (IE2C) removes Newton's rings from your solar images while adapting a 2" drawtube to a C-mount camera. In narrowband light like H-alpha, nearly parallel light can reflect inside the sensor and create wavy banding. The IE2C fits between your 2" Quark drawtube and C-mount camera and lets you tilt the camera slightly to change the angle of incidence and make the pattern disappear. Loosen the thumbscrews, tilt until the fringes vanish, and use the minimum tilt needed. Ships free to the US.

Which version is right for my camera?
The IE2C is for a 2-inch drawtube to a C-thread camera with a 17.5mm flange focal distance. For direct C-mount use the IECC; for T-thread cameras use the MG0408.

Will it vignette my images?
Crop-sensor and small-chip cameras are unaffected. Full-frame DSLRs may show some vignetting at full tilt — use the least tilt needed.

How do I use it?
Loosen the thumbscrews, tilt the camera until the Newton's rings disappear, then lock it down using the minimum tilt required.
