First night

I only used it 1 evening so far.. First off this is a beautiful telescope very well made with lots of thought and no plastic. I purchased this as an upgrade to my other brand 90mm st. Boy am I glad I decided on this.. Saturn was amazing with 2 of its moons! Next was the Dumbell nebula again amazing.. Then I moved on to star hopping and clusters the different colored stars looked like jewel's very impressed with the ar127 I definitely recommend this scope! And I own other types of scopes a 8sct and 10inch dobsonian. And I see this one getting used primarily. I also look forward to my trip in August to Branson Missouri mostly because my side excursion will be a trip to Springdale AR to visit explore scientific and maybe return home with the 152 mak! Lol

AR127 & Twilight I mount

This telescope is far better than any other in the same price range. CA isn't terrible and a cheap #8 yellow filter helps. The focuser is a 2" two speed dielectric coated mirror. The finder scope has too narrow field of view so I replaced it with a red dot finder. The over all build quality and size is impressive (much larger than it looks in a photo). I purchased this scope and Twilight I package deal. Because of the wiggle factor, vibration, I can't recommend the Twilight I for this scope. You would be better served by getting the Bresser EXOS-2 GEM or EXOS-2GT GEM. I ordered the EXOS-2 non go to and plan some day soon to get a 6" CAT for the Twilight I mount.

A great value...

I upgraded from a 4" Schmitt-Cassagrain to this ar127 and EXOS2 mount. This equatorial mount and tripod are quite heavy and very sturdy. The telescope itself was larger than I thought it would be. When assembled it looked impressive. The instructions were easy to follow but this wasn't my first scope. That evening I aim the ar127 at Saturn. The dual focus, course to rough in and fine for the best detail, was far faster than the single focus knob on my old scope. This becomes a huge advantage when changing eyepieces. It was a good night for viewing, Saturn was crisp with good detail. Next I checked out the ring nebula and Andromeda. This was my first time seeing the ring. Andromeda was impressive with the 25mm that came with the scope. The EXOS2 action is extremely smooth annd balanced. I'll be using this telescope with my science classes. The fine folks at Explore Scientific allowed me to upgrade my mount to the EXOS2 goto which I should have bought the first time. I also purchased a 6.7 and a 14mm in the 82 degrees series to round out the earpieces. This telescope is perfect for my needs not to mention a great bargain. I highly recommend this product.
