A Premium 2" Star Diagonal for Refractors and Cassegrains — 99% Reflectivity Dielectric Coating

The DS2MD is a 2" 90° mirror diagonal (the angled piece that makes viewing more comfortable near the zenith) with a dielectric-coated mirror. Dielectric coatings reflect 99% of incoming light — significantly more than standard enhanced aluminium (88%) or silver (96–97%) coatings — giving noticeably brighter, higher-contrast views without changing your telescope's optics.

The 2" barrel accepts full-size 2" eyepieces for wide fields of view; a 2"–1.25" step-down adapter is included for 1.25" eyepieces. Both holders use brass compression rings that grip the eyepiece barrel without scratching it — a significant advantage over thumbscrew-style holders. The barrel and adapter are threaded for standard 2" filters. For refractors and Cassegrain-type telescopes only — not for Newtonian or Dobsonian reflectors.

Who This Is For

  • Refractor or SCT owners upgrading from a standard prism or aluminium diagonal to a brighter, higher-contrast 2" dielectric mirror diagonal
  • Anyone who wants noticeably better views without changing their telescope or eyepieces
