Choosing your focal length

Short focal lengths (4.5–8.5mm) give high magnification for planets and the Moon; mid lengths (11–18mm) suit general deep-sky observing; longer lengths (24–30mm) give low-power, wide views for large nebulae and star fields. Frequently asked questions

What barrel size do these use?
The 4.5mm through 14mm use a standard 1.25" barrel; the 18mm, 24mm, and 30mm use a 2" barrel. Both are threaded for their respective filters.

The 82° field is wide and immersive, and the long eye relief means you don't have to press your eye against the lens — much more comfortable for long sessions and for anyone who wears glasses.
