See the invisible architecture of crystals, minerals, and anisotropic materials. The Bresser Science MPO 401 is a professional polarized light microscope that reveals birefringent structures — the internal crystal lattice of rocks and minerals, the fiber orientation of polymers, the stress patterns in glass — that ordinary brightfield optics simply cannot show.

Polarized light microscopy is the standard technique for identifying minerals in thin sections, analyzing pharmaceutical crystals, and studying fibrous biological specimens. The MPO 401 includes a rotating polarizer and analyzer, a rotating mechanical stage for precise angle measurements, and compensators for quantitative birefringence analysis. The 40x to 400x magnification range suits thin-section mineralogy, materials science, and advanced biology.

What's included: polarized light microscope with binocular head, rotating stage, polarizer and analyzer, DIN achromatic objectives (4x, 10x, 40x), wide-field eyepieces, coaxial coarse and fine focus, and LED transmitted illumination. All-metal body compatible with standard photo adapters for documentation.

The go-to choice for geology students, mineralogists, materials scientists, and polarimetry researchers. If you need to identify minerals in a rock thin section or study crystal structure in pharmaceutical compounds, the MPO 401 is the microscope for the job.
