Thousand Oaks SolarLite is a safe white-light solar filter film that lets you build your own solar filter for a telescope, binoculars, or camera lens. In white light the Sun shows crisp sunspots and a razor-sharp solar limb against a near-natural, comfortable image. The film is sold as a flat sheet so you can cut it to size and mount it over the front of your optics.

Safety note: a solar filter must cover the full front aperture of your optics and be mounted securely so it cannot fall off. Only view the Sun once the filter is properly fitted — never look at the Sun through unfiltered optics.

Is it safe to look at the Sun through this?
Yes, when it fully covers the front aperture and is mounted securely. Always inspect the film for pinholes or damage before each use.
