A Premium 2" Star Diagonal for Refractors and Cassegrains — 99% Reflectivity Dielectric Coating

The DS2MD is a 2" 90° mirror diagonal (the angled piece that makes viewing more comfortable near the zenith) with a dielectric-coated mirror. Dielectric coatings reflect 99% of incoming light — significantly more than standard enhanced aluminium (88%) or silver (96–97%) coatings — giving noticeably brighter, higher-contrast views without changing your telescope's optics.

The 2" barrel accepts full-size 2" eyepieces for wide fields of view; a 2"–1.25" step-down adapter is included for 1.25" eyepieces. Both holders use brass compression rings that grip the eyepiece barrel without scratching it. The barrel and adapter are threaded for standard 2" filters. For refractors and Cassegrain-type telescopes only — not for Newtonian or Dobsonian reflectors.

Who This Is For

  • Refractor or SCT owners upgrading from a standard prism or aluminium diagonal
  • Anyone who wants noticeably better views without changing their telescope or eyepieces
