The Alpen Apex LRF 50mm Rifle-Mounted Thermal Scope is a dedicated thermal imaging riflescope built for low-light and no-light hunting. A 640x512 thermal sensor with a 50mm lens gives it a long detection range of up to 2,600 meters, and a built-in laser rangefinder measures distance to your target directly through the scope.

Unlike night vision, thermal imaging works by detecting heat rather than light, so it functions in complete darkness and can even help pick out game hidden in brush or shadow. The sharp 1440x1080 OLED display and digital zoom (1x/2x/4x/8x) make it easy to identify targets at range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between thermal and night vision?
Thermal imaging detects heat rather than light, so it works in complete darkness and can spot warm targets through light brush or shadow, while traditional night vision amplifies existing ambient light.

Do I need a separate rangefinder with this scope?
No — the laser rangefinder is built directly into the scope, so you get a distance reading without an additional device.

How long does the battery last?
With the included rechargeable 18650 batteries, runtime is rated up to 15 hours total.

Can I record video while using the scope?
Yes, it includes recoil-activated automatic video recording with 32GB of internal storage and Wi-Fi for offloading footage.
