The DayStar Interference Eliminator C-Mount (IECC) helps you capture cleaner narrowband solar images. It threads into the C-mount interface between your solar filter and camera to suppress Newton's rings — the wavy interference fringes that appear in H-alpha imaging — along with stray-light scatter that reduces contrast. Ships free to the US.

Who it's for
Solar imagers running a C-mount camera who need to remove interference fringing from their H-alpha captures. New to solar imaging? See our beginner's guide to astrophotography.

  • Kills Newton's rings: suppresses fringe patterns in narrowband H-alpha imaging.
  • Higher contrast: reduces stray-light scatter for cleaner solar frames.
  • C-mount thread: standard 1"-32 TPI interface.
  • Simple installation: threads in between the solar filter and camera.

What's in the Box Interference Eliminator C-Mount (IECC)

What are Newton's rings?
Wavy interference fringes that appear when nearly parallel narrowband light reflects between optical surfaces — common in H-alpha solar imaging.

Which version do I need?
This is for cameras with a direct C-mount thread. For a 2-inch-to-C-mount connection use the IE2C; for T-thread cameras use the MG0408.

Where does it go?
Between the solar filter and your C-mount camera body.
