The Explore Scientific 2-Inch Dielectric Mirror Diagonal is a high-reflectivity 90° star diagonal that gives comfortable, upright viewing angles on refractor and catadioptric telescopes. Its 99% dielectric-coated mirror transmits maximum light with true color, delivering brighter, higher-contrast views than standard aluminized diagonals — and a 1.25" adapter is included so you can use both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces.

Frequently asked questions

What does a dielectric mirror do?
A dielectric coating reflects about 99% of the light with no color shift, giving noticeably brighter, more color-accurate views than a standard aluminum-coated diagonal.

Will it fit my telescope?
It's designed for refractors and catadioptric (SCT/Maksutov) telescopes that accept a 2" diagonal. The included adapter lets you use 1.25" eyepieces too.

Does it work with a Newtonian reflector?
No — Newtonian reflectors don't use a star diagonal. This is for refractors and catadioptric scopes.
