The Explore Scientific 92° ED 9mm is a premium ultra-wide telescope eyepiece that delivers high magnification with a breathtaking 92° apparent field of view. An eyepiece sets your magnification — this short 9mm gives strong power for the Moon and planets — while the enormous 92° field makes the view feel like a spacewalk, with objects seeming to float in front of you rather than sit in a narrow porthole.

Extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass keeps colours tightly focused for sharp, high-contrast detail, and this 2" eyepiece is fully multi-coated and argon-purged so it won't fog internally in cold or damp conditions.

Who it's for: Observers who want high-power planetary and lunar views with a hugely immersive field. Not sure which focal length to pick? Read our guide to choosing the proper telescope eyepiece.

  • 92° apparent field: an ultra-wide, immersive "spacewalk" view.
  • ED glass optics: extra-low-dispersion elements for sharp, colour-corrected detail.
  • High-power 9mm: short focal length for strong magnification on planets and the Moon.
  • 2" barrel, fully multi-coated: premium build with high light transmission.
  • Argon-purged & sealed: resists fogging and moisture for all-weather use, with long eye relief.

What magnification will I get?
Divide your telescope's focal length by 9. For example, a 1200mm scope gives about 133x with this eyepiece.

What does a 92° apparent field look like?
It's an ultra-wide view that fills your vision, making high-power planetary observing feel immersive and making it easier to hold objects in view.

How is the 92° series different from the 72° series?
The 92° eyepieces offer an even wider apparent field for a more immersive experience, in a larger, premium 2" design.

Does it fit my telescope?
It requires a 2" focuser or diagonal.
