A CLS filter works best on emission nebulae and improves contrast on many deep-sky objects, but it doesn't brighten broadband targets like galaxies and star clusters — it mainly darkens the light-polluted background so they stand out more.

Does it fit my telescope?
Yes, if you use standard 1.25" eyepieces — the filter threads into the bottom of the eyepiece barrel.
