The National Geographic NT114CF 114mm reflector telescope is a beginner astronomy telescope that combines real light-gathering power with a lightweight carbon-fiber tube. A reflector telescope uses a curved mirror to collect light, and at 114mm this Newtonian pulls in enough to show the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects in satisfying detail.

With a short 500mm focal length (f/4.4), it delivers wide, bright, easy-to-find views, and the included smartphone adapter lets you capture the Moon and bright objects with your phone.

Who it's for

Great for beginners and families who want an affordable, capable first reflector that's easy to aim and rewarding to use. New to the hobby? See our guide on how to pick your first telescope.

Key features

  • 114mm reflector optics for bright views of the Moon, planets, and deep sky.
  • Lightweight carbon-fiber tube that's easy to carry and set up.

  • Included eyepieces and 2x Barlow for a range of magnifications.
  • Smartphone adapter and red-dot finder to help you locate and photograph targets.

What you'll see

The NT114CF shows the Moon's craters and seas in crisp detail, the phases of Venus, Jupiter's cloud belts and four bright moons, and Saturn's rings. Its wide field is well suited to bright star clusters, the Orion Nebula, and rich Milky Way star fields from darker skies.
