The SVBONY 1.25-inch UV/IR cut filter blocks ultraviolet and infrared light so only visible wavelengths reach your camera or eyepiece. Because sensors and telescopes focus UV and IR differently from visible light, letting them through softens images and bloats stars — this filter removes them for tighter stars, sharper focus, and better contrast. It threads into any standard 1.25-inch filter mount.

Who it's for
Astrophotographers and observers who want cleaner, sharper results, especially with fast optics or one-shot-color cameras. New to filters? See our guide to telescope filters.

  • Blocks UV and IR: passes only visible light for sharper focus and tighter stars.
  • Better contrast: removes out-of-band light that softens images.
  • 1.25-inch thread: fits standard eyepieces, cameras, and adapters.
  • Ideal for OSC cameras: a common front-line filter for color astrophotography.

Why use a UV/IR cut filter?
UV and IR focus differently from visible light and can soften images and bloat stars; blocking them sharpens focus and improves contrast.

Do I need one with a refractor?
It's especially helpful with fast achromats and one-shot-color cameras, where out-of-band light is most noticeable.

Will it fit my gear?
It threads into any standard 1.25-inch eyepiece, camera nosepiece, or adapter.
