This Thousand Oaks off-axis white-light solar filter brings safe solar viewing to larger telescopes, including Schmidt-Cassegrains. Instead of a centered opening, the safe SolarLite aperture sits off to one side of a full front cap, so it clears the telescope's central obstruction and delivers a crisp, unobstructed white-light view of the Sun — sunspots and a sharp limb in a near-natural image.

Safety note: the cap must seat firmly over the full front of the telescope so it cannot fall off. Only view the Sun with the filter securely fitted, and inspect it for damage before each use — never look at the Sun through unfiltered optics.

Large catadioptric scopes have a central obstruction; an off-axis aperture places the clear opening to the side for an unobstructed view.
