A Fast 8" Newtonian for Deep-Sky Astrophotography

The R200SS is an 8" (200mm) Newtonian reflector at f/4 — one of the fastest focal ratios available at this aperture. That short focal ratio means wide fields and shorter exposures when photographing nebulae, galaxies, and clusters, making this one of Vixen's most popular imaging scopes.

The parabolic primary mirror is coated using Vixen's aluminium vacuum evaporation process, producing a smooth, high-contrast surface that performs noticeably better than budget Newtonian mirrors — both visually and in photographs.

One thing to know: at f/4, stars near the image corners can show slight coma (a comet-tail distortion) in photographs. Vixen's optional Corrector PH eliminates this and is recommended for imaging use.

Mount not included. Compatible with SX2, SXD2, SXP, SXP2, and AXD mounts.
