A Large-Aperture Catadioptric Optical Tube for Planetary and Deep-Sky Work

The VMC260L is a 260mm catadioptric optical tube — a design that uses both mirrors and a corrector lens to deliver a long 3,000mm focal length (f/11.5) in a relatively compact tube. That combination gives you the high magnification and fine resolution needed for detailed planetary work, tight galaxy cores, and other targets that benefit from a narrow, high-power field of view.

The double-meniscus corrector lens suppresses spherical aberration and field curvature, keeping stars sharp and images high-contrast across the field. The OTA comes with a 7×50mm illuminated finder, 2" visual back with 1.25" adapter, and a Vixen-style dovetail rail — ready to mount on a compatible equatorial or Go-To mount.

What You Can See and Image

  • Fine planetary detail: Jupiter's cloud bands, Saturn's ring structure, Mars' surface features
  • Faint galaxies, globular clusters, and planetary nebulae
  • High-magnification lunar surface views
